Abstract

Mouse maker Logitech International has prospered lately with robust sales of its accessory devices that complement products from Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. Logitech now wants to be at the center of the emerging connected home market, a goal it shares with those same industry leaders.

But its R&D budget of less than $150 million is dwarfed by the billions spent by Amazon or Google. Still, analysts expect Logitech to introduce a device that takes voice commands for home automation in competition with Amazon’s Echo and Google’s Home.
